Membership in the BCTLC

Membership is by appointment to those who currently occupy a leadership position in their home institutions, one of the 25 universities, colleges and institutes in British Columbia. As well, they have the ability to speak on behalf of their institution and are responsible for the management and implementation of teaching and learning, and learning technologies. Frequently, members will be at the director level.

There are up to two positions available for each of the institutions in British Columbia’s public post-secondary system to ensure there is representation from both learning technologies and teaching and learning areas of the institution (if they are not directed by the same position).

Membership in the British Columbia Teaching & Learning Council (BCTLC) is by appointment of Vice-Presidents Academic (or equivalent) from all publicly-funded post-secondary institutions in British Columbia, as well as Chairs of related provincial groups, such as the Educational Technology Users Group (ETUG).  Members represent their own institution on matters of teaching, learning, and technology.

On any matters requiring a vote, there will be one vote per institution.
